It's that time of year again!

Ceramics Department and Metals & Jewelry Club Holiday Sale!

Come check out cool, affordable, handcrafted jewelry and crafts for holiday gift giving!

The sale is located in the Center for the Arts at Towson University on the third floor by the ceramic studios.
The hours are
Thursday 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday 9:00am to 3:00pm

Hello all Metals and Jewelry Club Members, Alumni and Metals Students!

I would like to invite you to join us at the next Metals and Jewelry Club meeting
on Thursday, November 12th from 7pm-8pm in Room CFA 2006.

We will be discussing upcoming events and demos and future trips.
We will be going on our budgeted trip to SOFA Chicago the week before the meeting.

Last Meeting: Wax Lathe Demo

Last month at the club meeting we had grad student
Jenn Parnell demonstrate the application of the mini wax lathe
for wax working and casting model making.

Meeting Tomorrow 11.05

Don't forget we have a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5th at 6pm in CA2015. April will be giving a demo on patinas. We will also have pizza. Hope to see you there!

Tonight's Metal's Club meeting is postponed to next week. Sorry for the late notice everyone.
So, next Wednesday OCtober 29, come at 6pm to 2015 for fun, pizza, and a great patination and gold leafing demo from April!! Don't miss it!

tuesday, 10.14 meeting

At our last meeting we had a great demo by Jenn where we learned how to make an easy bayonet clasp. If anyone wants to look at the sample she made again, it's in the metals club cabinet.
We also went over our new box of tools! We got some great new stuff and it's all in the metals club cabinet for paying members to use. Lizzy went over the use of these new tools at the meeting, but if anyone feels unsure or wants more instruction in using these tools, feel free to ask any of the officers.
The Philly Craft Show is the weekend of November 14. The metals club has a budget to pay for up to 12 members stay in a hotel for a night. Please email Lizzy as soon as possible if you are interested in attending this trip. Her email is ehanne1@towson.edu. We would go up on the 14th and stay over night and come back the 15th.
So, unfortunately, the metals and jewelry club did not get into Holiday Heap. Thanks, Jo for collecting all the info for it.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 22nd at 6pm in CA2015. We will, of course, have pizza for everyone. April will also be doing a demo on patinas. Hope to see you there!

Update.

Last Wednesday at our meeting we had an awesome alternative color on metal demo by Jenn. She showed us how to use the bead blaster and how the use of oil paint, pastels, prismacolor colored pencils, and media typically used on paper or canvas can be applied to metal surfaces.

Also, keep in mind that the deadline for applying to Holiday Heap is quickly approaching, so please get any and all images you have of your work to Johanna Haydon. Her email address is jhaydo1@towson.edu.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 14th at 6pm in CA2015. Once again, we will have pizza and there will be another demo. This time Jenn will demo mechanisms.
